Ogbono and Okra

Description

Ogbono is a great soup on its own, likewise Okra Soup. But imagine two great soups come together as one, I will leave the rest for you to judge. Ogbono Okra soup is a popular Nigerian soup made with Wild Mango seeds, while Ogbono Okra soup is simply Ogbono Soup with Okra incorporated.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups okro Soup grated
  • 1/2 cup ogbono blended
  • 1 kg beef
  • 1 big stock fish head
  • 1 big dry fish (Asa)
  • 7 fresh pepper
  • 1/2 bulb onions
  • 1 tbsp iru
  • 2 tbsp crayfish
  • 1 cup palm oil
  • Salt to taste
Instructions

  2. Blend onions and pepper and pour it into the beef stock and allow it cook till the meat is tender

     

  3. Wash dry fish and if you have kpomo this is where you add it, allow it cook for about 10mins

  4. Add crayfish, iru then stir and add palm oil; please note that the meat stock should be on the same level as the beef in the pot before you add your oil

  5. Stir in the ogbono and stir continuously till its thoroughly mixed,then add okro; in this soup okro is serves as your vegetable.

  6. Cook for about 3 minutes then turn off the heat and serve
