Description

Russian Salad, also known as Olivier salad by invention made by Lucien Olivier for the Hermitage restaurant in Moscow in the 1860’s. It is a classic salad recipe and can delight any party as it goes well with both Continental and Indian cuisine, prepared with few easily available ingredients.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Peas (shelled)
  • 125 g Carrots (diced) peeled
  • 125 g French beans (stringed and cut)
  • 1 Potato (peeled and cubed), boiled
  • 3 cups Mayonnaise sauce
  • Salt
  • Black pepper, powdered
  • Mustard powder
Instructions
  1. Boil or steam the chopped vegetables to a bite like consistency, drain and chill.

  2. When cool, mix the sauce, salt, black pepper and mustard powder.

     

  3. Chill and serve.
