Recipe Description
Russian Salad, also known as Olivier salad by invention made by Lucien Olivier for the Hermitage restaurant in Moscow in the 1860’s. It is a classic salad recipe and can delight any party as it goes well with both Continental and Indian cuisine, prepared with few easily available ingredients.
Ingredients
- Peas (shelled) 1 Cup
- Carrots (diced) peeled 125 Gram
- French beans (stringed and cut) 125 Gram
- Potato (peeled and cubed), boiled 1 Large
- Mayonnaise sauce 3 Cups
- Salt 1 tbsp
- Black pepper, powdered 1 Tbsp.
- Mustard powder 1 Tbsp
Steps
- Boil or steam the chopped vegetables to a bite like consistency, drain and chill.
- When cool, mix the sauce, salt, black pepper and mustard powder.
- Chill and serve.
